Eguisheim is a small, typically Alsatian village with just over 1,700 inhabitants that welcomes around 800,000 tourists a year.

The cradle of Alsace's vineyards, situated on the wine route, our village is just 5 km from Colmar.

Its ranking as one of France's most beautiful villages in 2004 and the numerous awards it has won have made the town an active and dynamic place to visit.

Discover the castle and chapel of Eguisheim, birthplace of Pope Saint Leo IX and home to one of the largest fountains in Alsace (80,000 litres of water). Eguisheim, an exceptional village

Eguisheim is a veritable jewel of Alsace, renowned far beyond the region. As you stroll through its flower-lined streets, you'll discover a village that has won numerous awards for its beauty, authenticity and lifestyle.

Classified as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France since 2004, it was also voted the French People's Favourite Village in 2013 in a programme broadcast on France 2. In 1989, it was awarded the Grand Prix national du Fleurissement. It was also awarded a gold medal at the European Entente Florale competition in 2006, and has been awarded several prestigious labels: Village de Noël and Village Cigogne d'Alsace in 2009, Station Verte de Vacances in 2012, and Commune Nature with two dragonflies in 2014, then three in 2019.

Every season, Eguisheim unveils its finest assets and confirms its status as an emblematic village of Alsace's heritage.
